Typhi Sure is a rapid test based upon lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative and differential detection of S.typhi and S.paratyphi antigen in blood culture as an aid for the diagnosis of typhoid/paratyphoid. It is intended for in-vitro diagnosis and professional use only. A highly specific pair of monoclonal antibodies has been incorporated in the test formulation for an accurate and reliable diagnosis. Typhi Sure has 100% sensitivity for the diagnosis of S.typhi and S.paratyphi-A and 100% specificity. No cross-reaction was noticed with blood cultures containing bacteria other than S.typhi and S.paratyphi-A. Typhi Sure has a single & simple procedural step, ensures quick & accurate results, easy to use and interpret the results without the need for an instrument. Use of Typhi Sure saves costs, labour and turnaround time in diagnosis of typhoid / paratyphoid. Further identification and confirmation of the bacteria in blood culture can be bypassed using Typhi Sure due to 100% sensitivity & specificity in comparison to gold standard microbiological technique. Typhi Sure is the best available tool for the resource limited settings who want to diagnose typhoid / paratyphoid without need of automated blood culture machines with the aim to minimise the time to obtain a test result, thereby allowing clinicians and pathologists to make a quick clinical decision. It has a shelf life of 24 months from date of manufacturing if stored at 2-40°C.
